SAFA President Danny Jordaan to offer advice for Moroccan World Cup bid committee #South_Africa



Soccer Laduma can reveal that Morocco have turned to South African Football Association President Dr Jordaan in an effort to bolster their bid to host the 2026 World Cup. 


The North African nation is set to send members of its 2026 World Cup bid delegation to South Africa in order to engage with the SAFA President on measures of how to further strengthen their bid to host the global spectacle. 


Speaking to the Crew SAFA’s Head of Communications Dominic Chimhavi confirmed that Morocco delegation which also comprises of members of their FA have reached out to SAFA and the President for advice.

“I can tell you that the Moroccan delegation is determined to spearhead a successful 2026 World Cup bid and as part of that have turned to SAFA president Dr Jordaan for advice,” said Chimhavi.


“South Africa is the only African country to have successfully bid and hosted a World Cup and Morocco want to emulate that success. That this why they have reached out to Dr Jordaan who was an important member of South Africa’s World Cup bid delegation as well as the Local Organising Committee.


“The Moroccan delegation will coming sometime this week to engage with the President who will assist in an advisory role,” concluded Chimhavi.


South Africa is the only African country to have hosted a World Cup in the history of the tournament and if Morocco is successful, will be the second country on the continent to do so.
